The up tempo take no prisoners basketball that the Phoenix Suns have implemented with a great deal of success looks like it has become contagious, as many NBA teams are now moving towards a faster style of play . This full-court system, will fill up seats and create a new buzz, around a league that had becoming stagnant, and boring to watch for much of the last decade.

The new push for a more aggressive scheme became evident, after the half court defense first mentality of the Pistons, failed miserably during last years play offs. Another trend, that will have us seeing higher scoring games is the move away from the 10 man rotation , as coaches are now commonly going, with a widely used 8 man rotation system , this will see a lot of tired legs and star offensive players on the court for more minutes each game , thus effecting the final score sheet

The influx of seasoned veterans from European basketball and guard orientated offenses and the most talented high flying group of offensive players in years, i.e LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Kobe Bryant will also be keeping score keepers busier than ever. The lines makers are well aware of the observations above ,and it will be interesting to see, if they over compensate on Totals during the early part of schedule, especially involving those teams that have stated publicly, their intentions of playing wide open run and gun hoops during the upcoming 2006/7 NBA season.
